First established in Hiroshima in 1886 as the Hiroshima Limited Partnership Milk Company, Chichiyasu’s milk business established its reputation after being presented to Emperor Meiji during an imperial visit to Hiroshima.
The company conducted careful research on the tastes of Japanese consumers and produced Japan’s first yogurt in 1917. Chichiyasu followed this up with other achievements, such as being the first in Japan to sell yogurt in a plastic container, leading to yogurt being enjoyed in more and more homes across the country.
In its first hundred years of selling yoghurt, and for a hundred years to come, the company consistently provides customers with delicious yoghurt and peace of mind as it creates products that build on the spirit of Chichiyasu.
