Fujii-ya has manufactured momiji manju for 90 years in Miyajima, the place of its foundation. Its “lilac-color koshian (strained bean paste),” made by boiling skin-peeled azuki beans has a traditional taste that can be said to be the origin of the company. From now on, we will continue to carefully pursue that rich fragrance and freshly baked taste of momiji manju. We also wish to create new sweets and deliver joy to everyone. We will pursue new deliciousness that is as unwavering as the “momiji (maple trees)” that mesmerize us throughout the seasons.
〈Momiji Manju(Five flavor variety pack)〉
●“Koshian (Smooth Red Bean Paste)”
The spledid purple color and refined flavor of koshian blends in perfect harmony
with a delicate sponge cake base.
●“Tsubuan (Mashed Red Bean Paste)”
Mixed with a Japanese chestnut paste to make it go even better with sponge cake.
A well rounded taste packed with flavor.
●“Matcha-an”
Uses matcha-an, which was made by adding high quality matcha to koshian,
giving it the rich, fragrant flavor of azuki and matcha.
●“Custard Cream”
A simple-flavored custard cream that matches Castella (soft sponge cake)
●“Chocolate”
The flavor of bitter chocolate cream in complete harmony with Castella.
“Japanese and Western Confectionery, coconca”
The “Japanese and Western Confectionery, coconca” was established so that people can enjoy traditional “an (sweet bean paste),” the life force of momiji manju, even more. We aim to usher in the next generation of sweets culture by creating deliciousness that transcends the boundary of Japan and the West, including new sweets using “an” and sweets using fruits from Setouchi.
