In 1914, Kakuichi Domoto (grandfather of the current President) began the manufacture and sale of tsukudani (food boiled in soy sauce) and pickled foods in Hatsukaichimachi, Saeki-gun (currently Hatsukaichi-shi), Hiroshima. After the establishment of Domoto Foods, LLC in 1948, the company was reorganized into Domoto Foods Co., Ltd. in 1965. We were the first company to discover the “ukashidaki manufacturing method,” which is now the general manufacturing method for mass production, in the tsukudani industry and succeeded in mass production of tsukudani. We also pioneered the sale of the world’s first “skin-peeled sweet chestnuts,” and “retort rice porridge” ahead of our competitors. We did not seek to patent the “ukashidaki manufacturing method” and published information about the method as “new technologies for development of the entire industry.” We promoted [strong, kind and fun] as our corporate philosophy, and are now making efforts to develop Braille packaging and soft foods for the elderly as “universal design foods.” “Food is life.” We will firmly ponder the meaning of those words and our social responsibility as we continue to offer products that are delicious and beneficial to everyone.

“Caring Domoto Delivery Service (Foods for the Elderly) 80g Series”

This is a line of household dishes that resolves the inconvenience of eating meals that comes with an aging diet.
Wishing that people may live a “healthy, long life by eating from the mouth,” these household dishes were developed as products to support people who have difficulty with eating hard foods. These household dishes are soft enough for you to easily chew after putting them in your mouth.
Under the concept that “deliciousness starts from appearance,” we pay careful attention to the beauty of our products, and each product has the characteristic of being able to maintain the shape of its ingredients without losing shape during delivery. We use the same traditional technology we’ve used for over a century to achieve a mild, delicious flavor. These universally designed long-life foods can be kept at room temperature.
