MIKASA CORPORATION started out as “Masuda Rubber Industries,” which was founded in 1917 and the company name was changed in 1950 to “Myojo Rubber Industrial Co.,” which manufactured various rubber products. In the late 1960’s, we started to manufacture volleyballs and in 1969, our volleyballs became the official balls for international competition. Our balls have been highly valued in the world of sports ever since.
The company also plays a role in manufacturing industrial products including submerged rubber bearings, through the use of its widely recognized advanced techniques. In 2001 “Myojo Gomu Kogyo” changed its name to its current company name “MIKASA,” unifying the company and brand names.
