Molten was established as a rubber manufacturer on November 1, 1958. Starting with the manufacture and sale of competition-grade balls and automotive parts, we since expanded business into new fields, such as medical and welfare, by utilizing our two core technologies, “hollow body technology” for the adjustment of internal air pressure and “macromolecular chemistry” for the handling of rubbers, resins and other polymeric materials.
Currently we are a top manufacturer of competition-grade balls loved both in Japan and around the world. In automotive parts, as well, we supply to variety of automobile manufacturers and top global companies. In the medical and welfare industry, we contribute to society through both innovative product development and medical research.
Our exhibit features the official basketball used in the FIBA Men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournaments and the official ball used in the IHF Tokyo Handball Qualification 2020.

FIBA Special Edition

Modeled on the BG5000, the official ball for FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, this ball depicts cherry blossoms, an iconic symbol of Japanese culture, along with two characters—en (wholeness) and wa (harmony)—written by up-and-coming calligrapher Bisen Aoyagi. The design encapsulates Molten’s vision of “spreading joy from a better world.”

IHF Special Edition

The special edition ball carries the same features of the flagship model, NUEVA X5000, which is the official game ball of the International Handball Federation (IHF). The ball was developed to achieve an exceptional grip. The circle created by the radiating dots expresses Molten’s vision of “spreading joy from a better world.”
