Founded as a seafood paste products manufacturer in 1949 in Tomonoura, Fukuyama, craftspeople here spare no effort creating genuine flavor by pulling every last bit possible from ingredients harvested from the waters of Setouchi.
On April 16, 2010, we renovated and opened Tomo-no-Ura Taisho-no-Sato, previously known as our Tomo-no-Ura Uo-no-Sato facility. Here, we offer our visitors a variety of activities, such as the chance to try out making fish paste for themselves or enjoy ramen that is served nowhere else.
Additionally, we contribute to regional culture through the Totto Gallery next to Tomo-no-Ura Taisho-no-Sato, which is publicly exhibits local artists.
Moving forward, we at Amochinmi will continue to dedicate ourselves to a variety of challenges geared towards satisfying a wider range of customers.
MOMIJI-FRANCE
In addition to our seafood paste products, Amochinmi has recently started creating new Japanese fusion confections.
MOMIJI-FRANCE takes the bean cream of a Japanese dessert and wraps it in a traditional French baked gateau (dacquoise).
Our younger employees banded together with the goal of creating a new, truly Hiroshima sweets project, which led to the development of MOMIJI-FRANCE, which went on sale after two years spent studying a variety of confections, in March of 2018. Their crispy texture and delicious almond flavor have made them something visitors to Hiroshima are bringing home to their families.
